Advance Praise for “Cubicide”
“I responded very strongly to the narrative voice- sardonic and sassy, but with a genuine warmth that lies a little bit beneath the surface. The writing is tight and accessible and the sly, deadpan commentary reeled me in right away and had me laughing out loud!”
–Melissa Ann Danaczko, Random House
“A very smart, well-written novel. I was impressed with Katie’s style, particularly how well she managed to get across her unique sense of humor without having it overshadow her characters.”
-Regina Scarpa, St. Martin’s Press
“Compelling, funny and well-written. Commercial, yet a real reviewer’s favorite.”
-Sarah Landis, Hyperion Publishing
“Love has a great, sardonic sense of humor and I was instantly pulled in. She also has a nice knack for convincing, engaging dialogue. I was swept along by it.”
–Laura Ford, Ballantine Publishing
“A talented author and a wonderfully funny book!”
–Signe Pike, Penguin Publishing

Katie Love is a San Francisco Bay Area native and began her writing career at the age of seven by penning books about her family, then presenting them as brutally honest gifts.
As an adult, Katie ventured to Hollywood where she took her writing to the stage as a professional comedian and honed her skills as a screenwriter. She has written for the Los Angeles Times, the sitcom-webisode, “Wannabe Me!” (www.wannabeme.tv) and penned two comedy scripts with writing partner, Dan Lougheed, now optioned and in development. She has also been commissioned to write scripts for several production companies.
As a writing coach, Katie enjoys the collaborative process and has designed a series of writing classes called “Write and Laugh with Love,” a four-part series that explores how to write from the emotional core in any genre.
Katie is currently promoting her first novel, Cubicide, and is hard at work on her second book, Eavesdrop Café. She resides in Los Angeles with her red-haired dog, Lucy; aptly named after the comedy legend, Lucille Ball.

Cubicide Synopsis
Set in the San Francisco Bay Area, Cubicide is a sardonic, poignant comedy about the rigors of following one’s bliss.
Bette Ranier has just turned thirty and is struggling to maintain her composure while toiling in the bowels of Corporate America and facing off with her boss, whom she calls “Bangs.” Bette craves success as a musician; however, family obligations take precedence when her sister becomes seriously ill. Standing at the fork in the road, Bette must choose between the safety and security of her mundane job and an uncertain path as an artist.
Cubicide is the story of one woman’s comedic rise against her fears and foibles and the sacrifices she makes along the way.

Katie’s Work
As a writing coach Katie Love is the best! I feel like I can conquer the world when I leave a session with Katie. Her wit and ability to see humor in circumstances can take my once-sloppy, disjointed story and turn it into something fabulous! Her graciousness even leads me to believe that I can do this stuff on my own ( I can’t, yet!). This woman was born to write. I feel fortunate to have this talent as my “coach”!

I was lucky enough to meet Katie just after completing what I thought was my ‘final draft,’ which, as it turns out, was not the final one at all. Having Katie coach and work with me has brought out the best in my work. Her humor and timing is second to none, but it’s the way Katie brings out the best comedy writing in you, that makes her great as a tutor and mentor. This woman knows what she’s doing! Now, thanks to Katie, my work is ready for all to see.
